Knocknagoshel Anglers was founded in 1998 and has around 7km of fishing on the Awveg river, from where it joins the Feale up to the new motorway bridge. The Knocknagoshel water is a trout fishery, both sea trout and brown trout, with salmon coming up in October and November prior to spawning. The best of the sea trout fishing is May, June and July. The club has put a good deal of effort into the spawning beds, installing gravel traps in an attempt to prevent gravel being washed away by the floods.
The club has an extensive wheelchair accessible stretch of water.
Visiting anglers are welcome. Club membership is only €10, so this is what visitors pay.
